Radio Rhino International - Africa
“I have surely seen the affliction of my People and have heard their cry;
Recognising that radio broadcast is a crucial medium in the contemporary Information Age where information output, control and access are key to the contemporary political struggles and human development, and where above all the radio continues to be the prime source of information for the majority of the inhabitants of Africa with the exception of Uganda where for 17 years the NRM dictatorship and regime has laws and directives curtailing the freedoms of the press and expression, and the rights of information to the peoples of Uganda,
Aware that the 17 years of a one-party military dictatorship and the ban on active meaningful political activities is a period of stagnant detrimental political development on individual citizens of Uganda to understand, utilise, cherish, enjoy and nourish the in-alienable human rights,
Aware of the NRM regime’s intimidation, harassment, terrorism and forceful closures of private independent radio stations and newspapers from accurate reporting on diseases, the economy, poverty, illiteracy, wars, insecurity and other war related effects on the people in every war-theatre where the UPDF is overtly or covertly involved in and outside Uganda,
Aware of the resolved intent and practise by the dictatorial militant Uganda-NRM regime to control, suppress and curtail divergent views, opinion and accurately-précis reporting on issues of national interest to the people of Uganda, Africa and international community,
Aware that the NRM regime desires to use radio broadcast and the press to propagate its political ideologies at the detriment of political parties and organisations, the citizens of Uganda, Since the NRM regime uses the press and mass media to propagate ideological hate and inflammatory-sectarian sentiments and discriminative propaganda messages against persons and institutions opposed to the NRM regime in and outside Uganda,
Recognising that radio broadcast is one of the effective forum for discussing the experiences of people and communities on economic, social and political affairs,
RRIA is an airwave declaration campaign in the liberation, protection and promotion of the freedom of expressions and the rights to information by the Press, the Mass Media and the people of Uganda. RRIA will break the chains of state concealment of the NRM’ s man-made gruesome inhuman sufferings on the people in and outside Uganda,
RRIA seeks to introduce and promote the landscape of independent media, providing an open independent forum that will act as a democratic communication bridge, dismantle the dictatorial state curtailment of, & interference with independent media, allowing dissemination of varied critical views and focus on national, regional and international political, economic, environmental and social issues.
RRIA is committed to air discussions and experiences on diseases, poverty, economy, justice, good governance and the rule of law, citing examples of cases in and outside Uganda, tracing the routes, merits and demerits taken by different persons and distinctive personalities, communities and organisations in social movements.
RRIA is committed to observe and respect the international laws and conventions governing the operational ethics of radio broadcast, appreciating the momentous importance of Short Wave radio signals which override political and geographical boundaries,
RRIA primarily intents on truthful, accurate and précis radio broadcast to unravel the Uganda NRM regime’s propaganda of misinformation, lies, concealment and denials of the inhuman effects of its militaristic political ideology in and outside Uganda.
RRIA is committed to:
Work in broadening the spectrum of voices available to listeners in Uganda, the areas of the great lakes regions and Africa south of the Sahara,
Expanding content, input, exchange of ideas and perspectives on topics of relevance to Africa especially Independence, nations sovereignty and neo-colonialism,
The relevance and implications of the Commonwealth, United nations and International Charters, International Organisations, AU, NEPAD and EAC to Uganda,

Expose and campaign against child abuse, the use of children as child soldiers either by so-called voluntary concession by a child, or conscription by coercion, dupery, manipulation or force of abduction in any armed group, government or rebel armies,

Provide a platform, forum and medium to Africa immigrants to maintain communication with and contribute to Africa’s developments,
Advocate for and promote reconciliation, tolerance and peaceful co-existence between peoples of all nations, especially nations whose dictatorial leaders while in pursuance of personal causes, have led their nations into war against each other such as Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, the DRC and Sudan,
Expose prejudice, injustice and corruption,
Advocate for environmental awareness.
